Faculty Goals

 


1. To qualify high school students graduation from the physical science department or equivalent to obtain a bachelor's degree or diploma in the disciplines of Hydrographic Survey, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and Ports and Maritime Transport. Also to obtain International Certificates in Hydrographic survey (CAT A or B) or International Certificates of Competency (Nautical Officer – Marine Engineer) through maritime training and courses allowing them opportunities to work on board ships as well as to prepare them to carry specialised technical work in ports and the maritime transport sector.



2. Qualification of Officers and Marine Engineers working on board overseas ships and in shipping companies as well as workers in the field of maritime transport and preparing them to obtain International Certificates of Competency (Captain on overseas - Chief Marine Engineer) and other Certificates of Competency and to raise their level of professional by conducting specialised short courses.


3. Conducting special studies and scientific and applied research and provide technical advices to resolve the problems of the maritime transport sector and its development.


4. Give all graduates and bachelor's degree holders in the areas of Hydrographic Survey, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and Ports and Maritime Transport; the opportunity to join the postgraduate Master's degree program in accordance with the regulations for Graduate Studies in the universities.


5. Dissemination of scientific culture and technology through conferences and seminars.
