Abstract
:
Was the subject of electronic services provided by libraries and information centers with interest this particular study. It aims to introduce the service points electronic, also aims to identify the electronic services provided by Library King Abdul Aziz University Central, where the researcher used the method of case study as a form of method descriptive in the search, which relies on the analysis of the content of the documents relating to the situation has been collecting data on services for by viewing the reality of services through telephone calls and annual reports issued by the Deanship of Library Affairs and browse the library site located on the network. As for the importance of this study as it is the second study of its kind in the Kingdom and the Arab world, this study enables libraries to recognize this kind of advanced services, and highlighted the findings of the study: 1. The presence of many advanced services provided by different types of libraries and these services CDs, digital libraries, and the Internet, and digital handsets services, and electronic service points. 2. Failure to invest library of financial allocations in the development of sophisticated electronic information services as a service e-points. 3. Lack of rationing services for the information presented parallels with the financial allocations available and changing needs of its beneficiaries. 4. Lack of training courses and workshops offered by the Deanship of Library Affairs for the library staff. 5. Not regulate the use of automated services available in line with the needs of beneficiaries. Through the results of the study findings the researcher recommends that: 1 - need to reconsider the mechanisms currently in place and to provide electronic information services, researcher suggests that placed specific policy does not depart from the goals and mission of the library. 2 - the necessity for accurate studies to the needs of current and future library to work on harmonizing services used with these needs. 3 - Work to increase financial support and budget allocations for the implementation of the project.
